Library Quest 2026

Summer at the Library: Teen Edition

Calling all adventurers ages 12–17! This summer, embark on an epic quest at Middlesex County Library. Explore new worlds, complete daring challenges, discover incredible books, and earn chances to win treasure along the way.

Every quest you complete earns you ballot entries for our Grand Prize Draw. At the end of the summer, two lucky adventurers will each win a $100 gift card of their choice!

Important Dates

  • Registration Opens: Friday, June 26, 2026
  • Last Day to Earn Ballots: Saturday, August 15, 2026
  • Grand Prize Draw: The week following the end of the program

The two winners will be contacted by phone. Prizes must be picked up at a Middlesex County Library branch.

How to Earn Ballots

Participants can earn up to 21 prize draw ballots throughout the summer by completing three different types of quests. Claim your ballots by speaking to library staff when you have completed a quest!

📚 Check-Out Quests

Every great hero needs knowledge! For each physical item you check out from the library, staff will stamp or initial one space on your Check-Out Quest Tracking Bookmark. Fill your bookmark to earn a prize draw ballot:

  • One completed bookmark = 1 ballot
  • Maximum of 1 completed bookmark per week
  • Earn up to 7 ballots during the program
  • Physical library materials only

🐉 Quest Scrolls

Choose your path and embrace your destiny. When you register, you'll select one of two adventure scrolls: the Scroll of the Silver Dragon or the Scroll of the Golden Griffin. Each scroll contains 7 unique activities and challenges. Complete activities, visit your library branch, and collect ballots as you go:

  • 1 ballot per completed activity
  • 7 activities per scroll
  • Maximum of 7 ballots
  • One scroll per participant

⚔️ Weekly Side Quests

Every hero knows the value of a good side quest! A new bonus challenge will be released each week on our website, social media channels, and in library branches. Complete the quest before the week ends to earn an additional ballot:

  • New quest every week
  • Complete each quest once
  • Available only during the week it is posted
  • Earn up to 7 ballots
