Ontario Public Library Week 2023

October is Canadian Library Month! This month, libraries and library partners across Canada raise awareness of libraries’ valuable role in the lives of people in Canada.

The third week of October is Ontario Public Library Week and this year's theme is “Libraries For Life.” Libraries are for everyone from birth to 100 (and beyond!).  Although the way you use the library may change overtime, we are here for you through every stage.

To celebrate Ontario Public Library Week Middlesex County Library is excited to announce the launch of automatic renewals and to offer free replacement cards until Saturday, October 21.

Beginning now, eligible items without holds will be renewed automatically three days before their due date for up to two additional loan periods. Items can also still be renewed earlier in the loan period using your online account, when visiting a library or by phoning a library.

Please note that items with holds cannot be renewed and will not renew automatically. You can check if an item has a hold by using your online account, when visiting a library or by phoning a library.

Have you lost your library card?  Or is it worn, making the barcode hard to read?  For the week of Monday, October 16 - Saturday, October 21 Middlesex County Library will be offering free replacement cards!  Simply visit any library branch with proof of identity, or your current card, and ask at the circulation desk for assistance.  Please note that after October 21, the $3.00 replacement fee will once again apply.
